Spicy Cacao Steak with Salad
1 Tbsp. Mamamuti cacao powder
2 tsps. smoked paprika
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. coconut sugar
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
2 cuts of organic steak (any cut you prefer. I enjoy sirloin or scotch)
2 Tbsp organic olive oil
1 Tbsp organic salted butter
3 cups mixed organic greens
1 cup organic cherry tomatoes, halved
4 organic radishes, thinly sliced
1 organic lemon, juiced
1 Tbsp. organic extra virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper
1/4 cup shaved Parmesan
- Combine all dry spice ingredients for the rub together in a small bowl.
- Generously season patted-dry room temperature steaks with the Spicy Cacao Rub. Make sure to get both sides and all edges too. Set aside.
- Heat oil and butter in a large fry pan over medium-high heat. When the butter has melted and the oil is hot, add the steaks to the pan and cook as desired, about 4 minutes per side for a medium-rare. Remove from pan and rest for 5 minutes.
- While steak is resting make the salad by adding the greens, tomatoes and radishes to a bowl. Add the lemon juice, olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss together, making sure everything is coated in the oil and lemon. Add to the centre of a platter and top with Parmesan.
- Slice the steak and add to the platter with salad, the serve and enjoy!
